It’s only been a few days since Bollywood actress, Ileana D’Cruz, arrived into the country and already she’s smitten by the hospitality of the Fijian people. Ms D’Cruz said no matter how beautiful a place it’s the people who makes the place stand out.
“The nice thing about Fiji is the people; they are so lovely. You immediately feel at home and you’re laughing with them from the minute you meet them and you immediately feel relaxed and it feels amazing being with them,” Ms D’Cruz said. “I came here on holiday a year ago and it was the most amazing holiday I’ve ever had and I actually cried on the last day when I left and that’s how much of a connection I had with Fiji and I’m so happy to be back. It almost feels like you’re coming home in a strange way.”
The Bollywood actress is thrilled to be taking part in an array of adventures while in Fiji and says her trip would not be complete without this. She has and would embark on a number of activities. They include visiting the Sawa-i-lau caves, trying out zip-lining, Discover Fiji Tour in Navua and visiting Raiwaqa Village to experience our unique Fijian culture and warm hospitality.
Ms D’Cruz is here as part of a Travelogue for Times of India, supported by Tourism Fiji and Fiji Airways. The Times of India is India’s biggest media group and publishes the World’s biggest English-language newspaper. This initiative is part of a larger move to grow the India market and boost the climbing number of visitor arrivals we have from India.
On Monday, she witnessed her first Fijian sunset this year cruising Nadi Bay earlier this week on Monday. Tourism Fiji chief executive Matthew Stoeckel said: “Ileana knows how appealing Fiji is for visitors from India. Trough Travelogue she will showcase our unique, naturally warm, friendly people and our diverse traditions and culture.
“India is a fast-growing market for Fiji. Ileana’s visit will put Fiji on the must-see destination list for travellers from India through the imagery created by the Travelogue through Times of India’s distribution.”
