InterCity is resuming bus services in time for the long weekend, but the West Coast and the Far North miss out for now.
The nationwide bus service cancelled thousands of tickets and put itself on ice earlier this month saying it could not afford to operate under coronavirus physical distancing rules.
It resumes operations on Thursday, but says it is only running about a third of services across 70 percent of its network compared to pre-Covid levels.
InterCity says the physical distancing rules mean it’s likely to run at a loss, which it cannot sustain in the long term.
It says it is in discussions with the government about financial support.
