Nelson-Marlborough now clear of Covid-19

The region’s health board says 100 percent of the 50 cases have now recovered, after the first case was notified on 20 March.

The Director of Public Health, Dr Stephen Bridgman, says the result is due to the public’s cooperation, including those who caught Covid-19 and those in close contact with them.

He says the collective effort, including that from public health staff, has prevented sustained community transmission.
Dr Bridgman says 37 cases were identified through 7000 tests over the past two months.
